This is not your typical aesthetically pleasing skincare blog, one that shows perfect glowing skin, perfect eyebrows and eyelashes. There is alot of unrealistic Instagram feeds that are filtered, over edited, layers of makeup that only make you feel shit about yourself and your skin. Sometimes the girl in the picture doesn’t even look like the girl in the picture. Remember that!

But not all influencers are created equal, I unfollowed the ones that play the game and started listening to the ones who resonated with me the most. The realistic ones, the ones not doing it for the sponsored post, the ones that inspired me to make small changes in my life whether that was moving to a plant based diet or switching to clean skincare products. There is one thing I have learned over the years that is so important and it’s to be kind to yourself. I mean the way you speak to yourself, when you look at your breakout in the mirror first thing in the morning what do you say? What is the tone of voice you speak to yourself? It’s important to be aware of that and call yourself out when you feel it happening. We are all different in so many ways we shouldn’t compare ourselves to anyone. We are perfectly imperfect.

This photo is taken back in 2015 after a two week holiday at home in Ireland where I ate and drank what I wanted. I already had a small Perioral Dermatitis breakout before my holiday but eating those foods and going with “fuck it I’m on holiday” way I managed to bring on a cystic acne breakout aswell. Even though I really enjoyed myself and just lived the moment, my skin likes to remind me that eating lots of cheese, sugar and drinking alcohol has it repercussions. This is also a reminder to live your life! Dont let your skin condition or acne issues rule yours.
