Morning folks! Let's talk about the Irish brand Elave. I have been using this moisturiser since I was correctly diagnosed with Perioral Dermatitis back in November 2013. I would even go to say that this brand has been my savior. I trust Elave and always feel comfortable using it on my skin. I am all for buying from Irish brands but creating less waste lies deep within my values and I was starting to sway from the brand because of its plastic bottles. It is the only plastic waste left in my skincare routine. I reached out to Gardiner Family Apothecary and told them how I was a long term customer and how I really respected their clean formulation and sustainable production commitment but I still felt compelled to write to them about there use of plastic bottles.
They replied telling me that things are well underway behind the scenes to make the switch to metal tubes and glass containers (at least in the premium range I use). I have recommended Elave to many family members, friends, readers and mum’s struggling with their kids eczema and dermatitis. They have all found great comfort in their products. I have tried many different types of moisturiser in the past but many have triggered breakouts so I always come back to Elave. I do continue my search for an Irish zero waste moisturiser that works for my dermatitis but until then i continue to use it. Have you ever tried it? What is your holy grail skincare product?
